Summer courses

What are they?

These are unofficial courses of 30 or 60 hours, in morning and/or afternoon sessions (depending on the language), organized by the Center's Specific Offer Department outside of the official programs. They are not equivalent to the regular courses of a minimum of 130 hours that take place there throughout an academic year.

You will find the information for the language you are interested in by clicking on the table:

60-hour courses: €295.00 + €30.00 additional resources 30-hour courses: €175.00 + €15.00 additional resources

Registration

From 05/22/25 online by clicking here .
  • Registration is done online and is direct; there is no lottery to access the courses and payment is made at the time, by credit/debit card.
  • Registration will close as soon as the available places are filled. From this moment on, you will only be able to register on the waiting list.
  • If there are still places available, registration will remain open until June 25th at 11:59 p.m.

Essential documentation for registration

It is essential to attach a scan (in PDF or image format, maximum size of 2 MB ), at the time of registration, of the following documentation:
  • DNI, NIE or passport
  • accreditation of language level (the registration of people who cannot accredit their level and must take a test will not be final until the teacher gives approval. If they do not have the appropriate level, the school will refund the registration fee).
  • corresponding supporting documentation, in the case of a discount (50%) or exemption from paying tuition fees (only the amount corresponding to the additional resources must be paid.)

Minimum age

14 years old (turned before December 31 of this year), except in the case of English in which they must be 16 years old if it is their first foreign language in high school.

Program

The summer course programs are framed within the standard EOIBD levels (A1, A2, B1, B2.1, B2.2 and C1, equivalent to the respective levels of the Common European Framework of Reference), but are adapted as much as possible to the profile of each group. It is not always possible to offer all levels in each language in the summer courses.

Level test

All students, except absolute beginners and people who have an official certificate, will be required to take a level test to access the level that corresponds to them.

Evaluation and certification

The following criteria will be taken into account for the evaluation:

  • class attendance
  • active participation in the proposed activities
  • the delivery of a minimum of 80% of the tasks

Summer courses entitle students who have participated in 80% of the course to:

  • a certificate of proficiency : students who have passed the course.
  • a certificate of attendance : students who have met the attendance requirement, but have not achieved the course objectives.

These certificates do not have the same value as certificates from official courses (annual or quarterly). Therefore:

  • there is no official validation
  • does not allow automatic progression to the next level of an official course
  • does not guarantee a place.

Some universities in Catalonia recognize some of these courses as free-choice language credits. Contact the secretaries of your faculties to confirm their recognition.
The courses are pending recognition as a permanent training activity by the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Additional information

  • These courses are pending authorization. If authorization is not obtained, the center will notify the student and refund the amount paid.
  • The School reserves the right to cancel a course if the established minimum number of students is not reached.
  • In the event of cancellation of registration before the start of the course, if it is for a justified reason, the registration amount will be refunded after deducting the administrative registration fees (€55.00). If administrative fees have not been paid, the amount paid will be refunded except for the 15% administrative management fee. No amount will be refunded once the course has started.
  • The full tuition fee will only be refunded if EOIBD has to cancel a course.
  • In the event of an exemption, if the student does not attend a minimum of 65%, they will have a penalty and will not be able to enroll in any special course for free for two years.
