The specific offer of the center includes the non-regulated courses and extracurricular activities that each school can organize to respond to specific needs. These courses and activities are not part of the official curriculum nor do they lead to certification, but they offer flexible learning oriented to specific objectives, such as work on skills, test preparation or the study of other languages not included in the official offer of the EOIBD (offer subject to the authorization of the Department of Education).

Specific job courses for skills

Skills courses are unofficial general language courses, but with special emphasis on specific skills. They serve to maintain the level of language and expand knowledge. Their duration is 30 or 60 hours (one day a week*, two hours, in person at the EOIBD).

*In the case of Spanish, it is two days a week.

Oral comprehension and expression courses

Objectives:

Develop strategies to better understand spoken language (videos, audios, an interlocutor, etc.).
Develop strategies to express yourself better when speaking (interacting, making a presentation, etc.).
Being able to understand and communicate better in a natural way.

A certificate of proficiency: students who have passed the course.
A certificate of attendance: students who have met the attendance requirement, but have not achieved the course objectives.

Some universities in Catalonia recognize these courses as elective language credits. Contact the secretaries of your faculties to confirm their recognition.
Courses pending recognition as a continuing training activity by the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Additional information

The school reserves the right to cancel a course if the established minimum number of students is not reached.
In the event of cancellation of registration before the start of the course, if it is for a justified reason, the registration amount will be refunded after deducting the administrative registration fees (€55.00). If administrative fees have not been paid, the amount paid will be refunded except for the 15% administrative management fee. No amount will be refunded once the course has started.
The registration fee will only be refunded if a course has to be cancelled.

Preparation courses for obtaining official levels

What are they?

These are 30-hour courses organized outside of the official programs. These courses are aimed at those who want to prepare for the certification tests of levels B2 and C1 of the EOI for independent candidates.

Duration

First semester: from November to January/February (English only).
Second semester: from March to May/June (English only).

The class format will be hybrid: six 2.5-hour face-to-face sessions and six asynchronous sessions of autonomous work with the possibility of some individual tutoring or in a small synchronous group on days and times to be agreed.

General courses with specific purposes

General courses with specific purposes are used to learn a language in a more relaxed way than in official courses. They have a practical objective when it comes to emphasizing cultural and social aspects. Their duration is 60 hours (one day a week, two hours, in person at the EOIBD).

Travel courses

Aimed at people who have never studied the language (A1.1) or who have studied it for about 60 hours (A1.2).

Objectives:

Start learning the language at a more relaxed pace than in an official course.
Obtain a basis for communicating at a basic level, such as understanding yourself at a minimum as a visitor to a place where that language is spoken.
Talk about social, cultural and current affairs.

Courses for socializing

Aimed at people who have already studied about 120 hours of the language (A2.1) or about 180 hours (A2.2).

Objectives:

Reinforce and expand your knowledge of the language at a more relaxed pace than in an official course.
Gain a foundation to be able to communicate at a basic level, such as holding conversations about personal topics and the immediate and familiar environment with people who speak this language.
Talk about social, cultural and current affairs.

Courses to interact

Aimed at people who have already studied about 240 hours of the language (B1.1) or about 300 hours (B1.2).

Objectives:
Reinforce and expand your knowledge of the language at a more relaxed pace than in an official course.
Be able to interact with some confidence and use strategies to communicate efficiently in private and work contexts.
Talk about social, cultural and current affairs.

If administrative fees have not been paid, the amount paid will be refunded except for the 15% administrative management fee. No amount will be refunded once the course has started.
The registration fee will only be refunded if a course has to be cancelled.
These courses are pending authorization.
In the event of an exemption, if the student does not attend a minimum of 65%, they will have a penalty and will not be able to enroll in any special course for free for two years.
